EMULSIFIABLE CONCENTRATE (EC)
- It is most active form and highly reactive.
- It comes in transparent liquid form.
- When mixed with water, it becomes white.
- It is easily soluble and no need to stir.
- It is not advised to mix any chemical in it.
- These are cheaper than SC form of pesticides.
- The active ingradients are dissolved in organic solvants such as xylene and cyclohexane.
- These solvants are not soluble in water, so there is need to add emulsifiers to make them soluble, in water.
SOLUBLE/ SUSPENSION CONCENTRATE
(SC)
· It is supposed to be best for among pesticides to be used.
·
It
is liquid dense form, white in colour.
·
Chemical
is remain safe in it, because of mixing of wettable powder.
·
It
is less soluble and need to stir little and affects for long time on crops.
· Due
to mixing of wettable powder in it, it sticks to leaves and gave results
for
long time.
· It comes in solid form (Round apple shaped).
· Particle size range from 300-1700 micron.
·
Easily
soluble in water when mixed or put in water with in 1 minute.
·
These
may be white or grayish white in colour.
WETTABLE POWDER (WP)
· It comes in powder form, particle size about 25 micron i.e. Coarse
powder not fine.
· If particle size is 10 micron, then these are called dustable powder.
SOLUBLE POWDER (SP)
· It comes in fine powder form
· Brownish dirt colour coarse powder.
· It comes in granule form.
· It looks like EC.
· It looks just like Sugar or Urea.
